| Ireen was first introduced to road cycling while living abroad in Germany. Her then husband-to-be, who had been racing for seven years, set her up on her first bike (a 1996 Coppi) and schlepped her along many scenic routes through the idyllic European landscape. Fast forward two years, to Toronto, where Ireen tries her first race and is dropped miserably. She becomes determined, however, to train and pursue racing. Five years later Ireen can still be found on the regional (and sometimes international) circuit thanks in large part to a fantastic team and the generous support and dedication of the folks at Terry. |
